Linda Vista Adventist National Junior Honor Society
  (LVANJHS)
 

What is it?
The National Junior Honor Society (LVANJHS) is the nation's premier organization established
to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, LVANJHS service
to honor those students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, citizenship,
and character.
 
The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is:
 
  • To create enthusiasm for Scholarship
  • To stimulate a desire to render Service
  • To promote Leadership
  • To develop Character
  • To encourage Citizenship
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in activities
of the NHS and NJHS and NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the
District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. Territories, and Canada. NJHS not
only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenge them to
develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Who may be a part?
Qualified Sixth, Seventh and Eighth grade students.

Qualifications for selection?
Membership is based on a student's overall achievement in
scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
To be eligible:
  • You must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Students are not eligible if they have been suspended from school.
Benefits:
  • Membership in a nationally recognized Honor Society.
  • Local recognition for outstanding achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character (and citizenship for NJHS).

  • Chapter activities that provide students the opportunity to cultivate those ideal within
  • themselves, their schools, and their community.
  • Admission to regional NJHS conferences that enhance local leadership training opportunities and
  • allow students to meet and share ideas and experiences with other outstanding students.
  • National scholarship programs that recognize students for their leadership and scholarship achievements.
  • The NJHS National Scholarship program, in particular, has recognized outstanding chapter members since 1946.
